A self-taught photographer with over a decade of practice — capturing the soul of people, places, and art across India and beyond.
The Photographer
Mohammed Roshan is a self-taught photographer based in Kerala, India — the primary visual documentation photographer for Whistleman Films, a national award-winning collective of filmmakers and artists operating across Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai.
With over 12 years of practice, Roshan has built a body of work that spans the most prestigious art institutions in India and beyond — from the Kochi Muziris Biennale and the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art to India's pavilions at La Biennale di Venezia and Google Arts & Culture Lab. His lens has documented the work of Jitish Kallat, MF Husain, Raghu Rai, Bose Krishnamachari, and many of India's defining contemporary artists.
Alongside institutional work, Roshan pursues an independent practice in portrait, street, and travel photography — carrying the same rigorous eye from museum walls to city streets.
What I Do
From Venice Biennale pavilions to street corners in Delhi — from museum-quality archival documentation to intimate portrait sessions — I bring the same meticulous eye and technical precision to every frame.
Museum-grade documentation of exhibitions, installations, and artworks. Trusted by KNMA, Science Gallery Bengaluru, Kochi Biennale, and India's Venice Biennale pavilions since 2012.
Archival-quality photography of artworks, sculptures, and artist portraits. Experience documenting Jitish Kallat, MF Husain, Raghu Rai, Bose Krishnamachari, and more.
Behind-the-scenes and production still photography in collaboration with Whistleman Films — a national award-winning film and arts collective.
Compelling portraits for professionals, artists, and creatives. Studio and on-location sessions designed to reveal character, not just capture a face.
Authentic visual storytelling from India's streets. Series work from Jama Masjid, Madurai, Dharamshala, and beyond — built on 12 years of observational practice.
Available pan-India and internationally for travel assignments, cultural documentation, and editorial projects. Venice, Singapore, Dharamshala — wherever the work takes us.
